Origin Story
Who is Allouise? (Al-luh-weese)
Allouise Pâtisserie is named after my grandmother, Alice Louise, who first taught me the art of baking. Growing up in Joplin, Missouri, I spent summers at her side picking berries, stirring jams, and baking desserts and bread and cobblers that filled the kitchen with warmth. Those early days taught me that food is a language of care, hospitality, and love.
As I grew older, baking became my sanctuary. Through both joys and challenges, the kitchen was always where I found calm, creativity, and connection. It’s how I make sense of the world, and how I share myself with others. Every tart, cookie, and cake I create is rooted in that same sense of comfort and belonging I first felt in my grandmother’s home.
Today, I carry her name and spirit forward through Allouise Pâtisserie. Its with love and joy that I aim to bring thoughtfully crafted cakes and desserts to Kansas City and beyond. I value organic, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients, and I prioritize sustainability in my process. My goal is to create pastries that feel both nostalgic and fresh: honoring tradition while embracing creativity, while also caring for the community and environment that make this work possible. Above all, I hope each bite brings people together, nourishes, and celebrates life’s sweetest moments.
